Dead By Daylight Brings New Iconic Licensed Movie Character DLC

It looks like one of the biggest horror legends, Ash Williams of The Evil Dead is soon to appear in Dead By Daylight’s roster. Not only that, but Ash’s original actor, Bruce Campbell, is voicing his character. Unfortunately, the rights go to Ash VS. Evil Dead, but, it’ll have to do.

If you love horror games, there’s a very likely chance that you’ve heard of the game Dead By Daylight. For those of you who aren’t familiar, Dead By Daylight is a multiplayer slasher/survivor horror game of a group of four survivors faced near defenseless against one killer. This game is no stranger to classic horror flicks, and often treats their community with playable licensed characters.

The game already features Michael Myers and Laurie Strode of Halloween, Bill Overbeck of Left 4 Dead. It even has Freddy Krueger and Quentin Smith of A Nightmare On Elm Street, Bubba Sawyer of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Amanda Young and David Tapp of SAW makes an appearance too.

Details were originally leaked on Behaviour Interactive’s weekly developer stream, accidentally showing Ash’s perks. On March 28, 2019, Dead By Daylight announced [via Twitter, YouTube, and their PAX East presentation] that said DLC will be released on April 2nd. A trailer was previewed with Bruce Campbell, announcing the update himself. Short clips of gameplay displaying Ash’s character model was shown as well. This update adds a total of 32 playable characters (17 Survivors and 15 Killers).

As one may say in Dead By Daylight, “See you in the fog!”.

Dead By Daylight is available for PS4, PC, Xbox One, and they plan to bring it to the Switch Fall 2019.
